Join us for our longest and most picturesque circular walk near London. Our 17 mile guided walk starts at the historic market town of Berkhamsted and traverses some of the Chilterns most beautiful and diverse terrain. Just 40 mins from central London, our route sweeps through the ancient and vast beech woodlands of Ashridge, then opens up to summit the long and rolling chalk hills of Ivinghoe Beacon. The 360 degree panoramic views here are extraordinary as we follow small trails that weave from the heights of the beacon looping back through dense pine forests and high farmland back into the Ashridge Estate which is home to roaming herds of Fallow Deer - it unites an encompasses some of the most beautiful terrain Herts & Bucks.
This is a long day and challenging walk through woodlands and over some low hills, we require a standard level of fitness of walking to 5km an hour.
Meet Point: Rear Exit Berkhamsted Station 9am (Castle Ruins)
Start and Finish Time: 9am to 4:30pm - 5km per hour pace

Difficulty level: Intermediate/Difficult - Walk will be paced at 5km per hour
