Mimram River Valley Day Walk, Herts - 10 miles (16km)
Join us for a guided nature walks through the secluded Mimram Valley near Welwyn Garden City, one of Hertfordshire’s most diverse and beautiful landscapes. Just 40 mins from central London and following a countryside trail through rolling hills high above the historic Mimram Valley, this walking journey of 10.5 miles follows, at times, the clear chalk course of the Mimram River. The rivers source trickles from the upper reaches of the Chilterns and flows down through this Palaeolithic landscape where stone tools and artefacts have been found.
After passing through the thatched roofed village of Bramfield the trail sweeps high into deep woodlands of Pine and Spruce where pheasant and roe deer roam. The journey concludes as it winds down through the open landscape into fragrant apple orchards and Tewin Wood. Join us on this trail of ancient and beautiful rolling hills and secluded wild forests.
