Sail, Hike and Wild Camp - North Norfolk Coast
Sail, Hike and Wild Camp - North Norfolk Coast
£365.00
Join Former Royal Marine Commandos Ian Finch and Henry Chamberlains Coastal Exploration Co on this bespoke two day sailing and hiking journey along the wild North Norfolk Coastline - Planned to give you unique and adventurous insight into the hidden creeks, salt marshes and countryside of North Norfolk. This journey is exclusive to Walk Wild and will not be found anywhere else in the UK.
Using 1950's restored wooden crabbing boats by Henry Chamberlain (Coastal Exploration Company), we'll access the lesser known areas of the Norfolk marshland home to rare wildlife sailing under red canvas sail. After sleeping under a canvas cover and on board the deck of “The Salford” boat (moored in Wells) on the Friday night, we’ll deploy on the morning tide deep into the marsh where we’ll cook breakfast, wild swim and enjoy coffee and tea. After deploying from boat to land, we’ll either spend the day traversing from Blakeney Point dunes or the Norfolk Coastal Path onto the mainland or inland via Stiffkey Marshes and the Norfolk Coast Path. The 8 or 11 mile hike will take us into a secret and private wild camp location deep in the Stiffkey countryside where we'll settle tents, and boil stoves for evening meals. To catch the morning tides, the route will have to be done in reverse, catching the early dawn light and using a similar route to the day before. Timing is key as we’ll have to rendevouz with the boat and skipper deep in the salt marsh near Stiffkey. From there we’ll use the tide to sail back to Wells on Sea using the narrow channels in the salt marsh.
