Cuffley to Hertford via Hertfordshire Way and River Lea - 15 miles (25km)
Join us on this stunning guided walk of 15 miles from Cuffley to Hertford via the Hertfordshire Way, just a 35 minute train journey from central London. Starting in the sleepy village of Cuffley, Herts the beginning of this route encapsulates incredible and meandering trails that weave through quiet and immense Birch, Beech and Pine woodlands of Broxbourne, Hoddesdon and Hertford Heath. These woodlands are some of the wildest woodlands Hertfordshire has to offer, home to roaming row deer and muntjac. Our paths dissect them following streams and up onto the high meadows before dropping into historic town of Ware to follow the gorgeous River Lea canal all the way into the rustic and beautiful town of Hertford. Once finished here we travel together on the local train back two stops to Cuffley to the awaiting vehicles or further trains home.
The route covers hilly and forested terrain on footpaths. We require a standard level of fitness of walking to 5km an hour.
